Heat packs are used when shipping delicate plants to protect them from the cold and ensure a constant temperature during transport. Especially during the cooler months or during long shipping times, heat packs are essential for ensuring plants arrive healthy.
We'll then open the HeatPack shortly before shipping to allow it to warm up, enclose it in the package, and seal it. This way, your plants will remain in a warm environment during shipping.
Heat packs consist of a mixture of iron powder, activated carbon, salt, water, and vermiculite. Upon contact with oxygen, an exothermic reaction (oxidation) begins, generating heat over several hours. There are different versions of heat packs available, each providing different amounts of heat depending on the required duration—in this case, 40 or 72 hours.
Duration: These packs retain heat for about 40 hours and are suitable for shorter shipping distances or for plants that are less sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
Use: Ideal for shipping plants within countries or regions where delivery times are shorter.
Duration: These heat packs maintain constant heat for approximately 72 hours and are designed for longer transit times, such as international shipping or when delays are expected.
Use: Perfect for shipping particularly delicate plants or for longer distances where the plants are in transit for several days.
Notes :
If you forgot to add a heat pack to your cart and the weather conditions become too cold, we will notify you.
Heat packs are disposable products and can be disposed of after use.
